Between Only and Belonging

Between the feeling of being the only (and sometimes an outsider) and belonging lies opportunity. Come with me on a journey as I share lessons from childhood to adulthood thriving in the tensions between simultaneously being the only and belonging. Learn how you can shape your leadership style by finding a deeper sense of leading from empathy and the need for agency in creating inclusive communities that help others grow so that we can all have a more equitable and successful future of work. I challenge all of us to consider how we can use our own experiences with belonging to create better conversations, workplaces, and communities.

(How) Can I Bring My Authentic Self to Work? 

There is much said about bringing our authentic self to work and whether it is possible. Authenticity and defining authenticity in our career journey is an internal game. Building a culture where people feel comfortable to do it is more of an external one. In this talk I share my experience, tips on asking thoughtful questions in the interview process to gauge the climate within an organization, and choices I have to make in being authentic at work.

Leverage Your Strengths Workshop for Individuals and Teams

Learning about one’s unique talents and strengths helps in becoming self-aware, a fundamental element in leadership. I use Gallup’s CliftonStrengths and participants learn how their strengths show up in their professional and personal lives, as well as practice weaving this language into their conversations. This workshop helps teams work better together and provides insights into how individuals contribute to the team, communicate, and tackle projects.
